What is Wish for W.A.R.M.?

Wish for W.A.R.M. Is a signature program of the Peace Together Project, Inc. a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization and Sponsored through the W.A.R.M. kindness and generosity of Adirondack Bank, the Warm Apparel Relief Movement supports the needs of our participating organizations such as the Marrow warming Center, Hope House, ICAN’s Homeless Street Outreach, Project Home and Evelyn’s House, Utica center for Development-Veteran’s Outreach Center, The Rescue mission of utica, Emmaus House, Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Historic Old St. John’s Church Sandwich Ministry and Loaves and Fishes Warming Center serving Herkimer County.

Wish forW.A.R.M. an on-line giving drive that provides warm items for our area homeless? Wish for W.A.R.M. starts on Giving Tuesday and ends on the the First Day of Winter, December 21st. It’s the Winter Solstice, longest night of the year and National Homeless Remembrance Day. It reminds us the Central New York frigid temperatures fast approaching.

How Did Give Wish for W.A.R.M. get Started?

Wish for W.A.R.M. – Warm Apparel Relief Movement, was founded by Louis LaBella, Sr. and his son Chris, as a community platform. Wish for W.A.R.M. Brings donors and shelters together to provide warm apparel, such as hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers and blankets to our area homeless.

What’s the purpose of Wish for W.A.R.M.?

Wish for W.A.R.M. is a community platform Inspired by Kindness and Driven by the warm smiles of a volunteer network.

When is the Wish for W.A.R.M. on-line drive?

Why can’t I donate myself to the shelter?

You can! Wish for W.A.R.M. just simplifies the process by our team meeting with the area homeless shelters, missions and kitchens to identify their specific needs and we bring community together to provide them.

Does Wish for W.A.R.M. make any money on this?

NO! We are all volunteers at Wish for W.A.R.M. with the single goal of bringing community together to warm our homeless during the frigid Winter months.

Why doesn’t the homeless shelter set up their own wish list page?

Some shelters operate their own wish list programs. Unfortunately, so many homeless shelters. missions and kitchens are lacking the volunteer help and resources to keep up with maintaining a wish list program. Wish for W.A.R.M., provides the volunteers to operate a community platform to help support those smaller grass root – boot strap homeless shelters.
